Jean Porter Kackley Ganoe passed away on February 2, 2025 at the age of 100.
Jean was born February 15, 1924, to Nellie Mae McKee and George Clinton Omar Kackley. She attended Romney High until 1942 and Allegheny Scared Heart until 1945. Jean completed 3 years of nursing school and worked as a nurse at South Baltimore General Hospital. She was also employed as a partner of J.P. Kake Korner for 30 years. Jean was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of First Baptist Church of Savage since 1953 and was recognized as the oldest living member of her church.
Jean Kackley Ganoe is survived by her children, Pamela Horne (Greg) of Heathsville, VA, Billy Ganoe (Cindy) of Savage, MD, Jennifer Neimiller (John) of Kilmarnock and Jeffrey Ganoe (Wilfried) of Germany; grandchildren, Paul Gregory, Daniel, Jeremy, Jessie, Kristin, Paul William III and Zachary; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Paul William Ganoe, Sr.; parents, Nellie and CO Kackley; and brother, Charles Kackley.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10:00AM at First Baptist Church of Savage, 8901 Washington St, Savage, MD 20763. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Gore, Virginia at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 and handled by Giffin Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Savage.
