Joan Mary Holly

Joan Mary Holly, 83 , passed away November 4, 2016  at Shanti Home of Laurel, MD surrounded by love. Joan was born November  22, 1932 in Queens, New York to the late Frank J. and Beatrice E. Blanch.

Joan was a homemaker until she began working at the age of 42, retiring in her 70's. FAMILY was her love, passion, heart and soul.

Joan is survived by her best accomplishments in life - her children: Karen Rice and husband Gary, Jennie Eckerle and her husband Jerry, Terry Holly and her husband Dan, Bea Patterson and her husband Blake, Karl, Jr. and his companion Lynn, Jill Holly and her companion Rodney.

Joan is a proud Grandmother of 11, a Great Grandmother of 17, and a Great Great Grandmother of 1.

Joan is also survived by her brother, Butch Blanch and his wife Lucy, Sister-in-law Joyce Blanch, Brother-in-law Jack Holly and wife Judy, Sisters-in-law Inez Grundy and Mary Hay. Numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband, Karl and son Jack.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 beginning at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery.
