Joan Williams Stirling

Joan Williams Stirling, age 90, passed away in Columbia MD on January 4, 2023.

Born September 22, 1932 in Takoma Park MD. Daughter of Russell Thomas Williams and Amelia Mary Postkiewiez. She lived Washington DC as a child. She later moved to Maryland and resided in Howard County for the past 46 years.  In her early years, she did office work, but was mainly Homemaker. Joan was a member of Women for Constitutional Government and Catholics United for Faith. She was also a member of St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church.

Joan Williams Stirling is survived by her children Paula Stirling Gibson, James Russell Stirling, Thomas William Stirling and Joan Ellen Stirling, as well as her Grandchildren, Andrea Markish, Kelly Wise and Joseph Stirling. Joan was preceded in death by her Husband of 64 years, James Adams Stirling.

A Private Service for the immediate family will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., located at 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel MD on Thursday, January 12 ^th from 9:00 AM-10:15 AM. Following, there will be a Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church located at 114 St. Mary’s Place, Laurel MD. Burial will be at George Washington/Mt. Lebanon Cemetery located at 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Joan’s Celebration of Life at the American Legion Post 60 located at 2 Main St, Laurel MD from 2:30 – 4:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Joan Williams Stirling to St Jude’s Children Hospital or Neighbor Ride .
