John Carroll Welch

John Carroll Welch, 71, of Frederick, Maryland passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on February 27th, 2023.

Born October 11th, 1951 at Columbia Hospital in Washington, DC, John was the first born of the late John (Jack) Welch and Patricia Welch.

John grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. He graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. Soon after, he joined the Fire Department in Glen Echo as a fire fighter. He was also a tow truck driver for many. many years. Afterwards, he was a tower crane operator for Miller and Long. Later on, he became a fire/police volunteer for the Liberty Town Fire Department. Throughout the years he volunteered for the following fire departments: Independent Hose Company, Walkersville Fire Department, and New Market Fire Department. John loved helping people either through the fire department or a stranger on the street.

John is survived by his wife of 33 years Diane Welch. John was very proud of his son John (JC) Welch and his wife Brittany Welch. John had two grandchildren Zachariah and Karlee Welch. John had three siblings Mara (Joe) Miller, David Welch, and the late Tricia Welch. John enjoyed spending time with his brother-in-law Tommy Runion, along with his many other family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held at the Liberty Town Fire Department on Sunday, March 5th at 1:30PM.
