Joy Carol Gunter

Joy Carol Gunter, age 84, of Laurel, Maryland passed away February 19, 2024 at Howard County Hospital surrounded by family. She was born December 30, 1939 to Marshall Dewey Collins and Jessie Maude Grove in Bedford, Pennsylvania.

She was a daycare provider and homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters: Victoria Ranshaw of Laurel, Maryland and Cynthia Pierce-Booker of Ellicott City, Maryland; four grandkids: Eddie (Danielle) Saylor, Kenny (Stephanie) Ranshaw, Chris (Tara) Saylor and Crystal Ranshaw; and 10 great-grandkids: Eddie Saylor III, Erin Saylor, Hunter Goldman, Serenity Ranshaw, Kenny Ranshaw IV, Dylan Vass, Destany Saylor, Chris Saylor, Jr., Vivian Cronhardt and Zyara Bird.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Edward C. Gunter.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. in Laurel, Maryland. Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the funeral home at 10AM; with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Cemetery at Adelphi, Maryland. Donations can be made to the family to help off set funeral expenses.
