Karen Van Der Van Der Berg

At the request of the Karen, please do not wear dark colored clothing, but rather bright, cheerful colors to reflect her life. Karen has requested that no floral arrangements be sent to the memorial service, but rather to make a donation to Gilchrist Hospice Care, or to her children's education funds. Karen Van der Berg, 41, a Laurel resident for the past 12 years passed away on April 5, 2013 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Columbia. She was born on June 28, 1971 to Chris and Gill Van der Berg in South Africa. She has worked as an Occupational Therapist for the past 20 years.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by her 2 daughters Farha and Sahar Al-Gazzali-Walters; sister Olga Van der Berg; and brother Andre` Van der Berg.
A memorial service is scheduled for April 27, 2013.
