Karen Anne (Lonaberger) Norris

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen Anne Norris (Lonaberger) on May 11, 2025.

Karen is survived by her husband Warren Norris; son Sterling Norris; stepson Callaway Norris; mother Cathy Lonaberger Polk; father and steparents James and Karen Lonaberger; brother Andrew Lonaberger; mother-in-law Geather Norris; sister-in-law Janeen Norris; and nephew Albert Thompson.

Karen is preceded in death by her grandparents Charles and Virginia Lester and James and Helen Lonaberger; and father-in-law Warren Norris, Sr.

Karen grew up in Maryland City, Laurel, Maryland. She attended Brock Bridge Elementary, MacArthur Middle School, and graduated from Meade High School in 1994.

Karen took tap, ballet, and jazz classes and performed in Laurel Main Street Festival, Montpelier Festival, and numerous dance competitions. She also learned American Sign Language which would later become very helpful when she joined the workforce. She would be called upon to assist when hearing impaired customers needed help.

After graduating from high school, Karen went to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She then transferred to SUNY in Buffalo, New York.

After college, Karen went to work at ESPN Zone in Baltimore. This is where she met the love of her life, Warren. Karen and Warren married in 2008 and their precious baby boy, Sterling, was born in 2010.

Upon leaving the ESPN Zone, Karen went to work for Marriott Corporation in several different positions: Events Coordinator, Food and Beverage Director, and Sales Consultant.

Karen was beautiful inside and out. Her smile was warm and welcoming. Karen loved going to the beach, travel, camping, walking around Baltimore, biking, and raising her son into a fine young man. She loved her family tremendously.

Karen will be missed by her loving family and many friends and co-workers.
