Kathleen T. Mcdonald

November 23, 1952 — March 1, 2020

Kathleen T. McDonald, “Kathy”, was born in Takoma Park, MD, on November 23, 1952, to Leo William McDonald and Joan Patricia McDonald.  She passed away on March 1, 2020, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Kathy, was selflessly devoted to her family and friends, always placing the needs of others, especially her children, above all else.  We are blessed to have had her in our lives.

Kathy loved the simple things in life.  She could often be found with her eyes closed, face turned to the sun to let the light warm her and fill her with joy and peace.  As we celebrate her life, we are reminded of the light she shone in our lives.  She brightened the lives of all those fortunate enough to be in her presence.

Kathy loved to sing and dance; occasionally she would even sing the right words.  She adored her six loving grandchildren, and any activity in which they were involved.  She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed sewing, drawing and painting.  She also had a lifelong love of reading and loved episodes of “I Love Lucy” and “Seinfeld.”  In recent years, she found an amusingly outsized amount of joy in winning laundry money playing bingo with her friends at Harmony Hall.

She was a dedicated employee of Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, where she spent her entire professional career.  She was loved and respected by her coworkers, and enjoyed the exciting and interesting work.

Kathy is survived by Michael and Donna Ebaugh and their children, Madison, Annabelle, and Kaitlin of Annandale, VA; Jeffrey and Camela Ebaugh and their children, Aiden, Riley, and Hadley of Jessup, MD; and her siblings Leo (Christine) McDonald of Germantown, MD, Dennis (Donna) McDonald of Melbourne, FL, Timmy McDonald of Millsboro, DE, and Karen (Timmy) Severson of Edgewater, MD; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:00 am, at First Baptist Church of Savage, 8901 Washington St., Savage, MD 20763.  The family will receive guests at the church beginning at 10:00 am, and invite attendees to join them for a reception after the service, in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers or other memorials, Kathy would be so honored if friends and family make donations to the MS Society.
