Kenneth Brown Strickland, 56, of Laurel and formerly of Upper Marlboro, MD passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Laurel Regional Hospital. He was born on November 3, 1956 in Rock Hill, S.C. to Sadie Mitchell Strickland and the late John H. Brown. He attended public schools in Washington, D.C. at later in Job Corps. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He worked various jobs in the Metropolitan area as a meat cutter, apartment maintenance, Driver for a Cort Furniture, and Laurel Racetrack. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was an avid Redskins fan, loved to watch the history channel and documentaries, and was a family man. He was very dedicated to his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters Rev. Ruby Benjamin, Cynthia Taylor, Sandra Jones, Debra Mitchell-Frazier and her husband Matthew, and Linda Jones and her husband Stanley. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.
