It is with profound sadness that the family of Kristen Schermerhorn announces her passing on December 11, 2025, at the age of seventy-eight. Kristen Schermerhorn died peacefully at her home in Laurel, Maryland, surrounded by loved ones.

Kristen dedicated her professional career to supporting others as an administrative assistant and contract manager for a Navy ship repairer. After retiring early, she found her greatest joy caring for her six grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Kristen was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to entertain, decorate, and bring people together. Her warmth, vibrant spirit, and generosity will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, John; daughters Jerol Kelly and Krista Romberg; brothers Tom and Bill Cummings; and grandchildren Hannah, Olivia, Emily, Madelyn, Jacob, and Zachary.

Kristen Schermerhorn will be remembered for her devotion to her loved ones and her exemplary character.
