Laura Woolger was born in Washington DC on January 10, 1957. The second daughter of Samuel and Muriel Woolger. During her junior year of high school she was in an exchange program to Mexico for a summer. After high school she secured a job as an administrator at NSA, where she remained for over 40 years, retiring in January of 2020, just before Covid. She studied at UMUC and enjoyed attending conferences and workshops in Orlando, Florida where she and her coworkers enjoyed spending their free time at Disney resorts, Universal, and Sea World.
Laura loved her pets, and had many animals that she loved through the years. She also enjoyed crafts, online puzzles, reading science fiction and making fun of Ancient Aliens on tv. She had a wicked sense of humor and especially liked to dress up for her favorite holiday, Halloween. Laura liked her jewelry, especially bracelets, crystals, and Daryl Hall (from Hall and Oates). Travel and seeing new places kept her interest as long as she didn’t have to get on a plane.
Laura passed quietly from this earth on March 16, 2025 at Gilchrist Center in Towson Maryland from heart failure. She leaves behind her sister, Janis Elaine Woolger, and assorted cousins who all loved her very much.
