Lillian A. Shepherd

Lillian A. (Smitherman) Shepherd, 86 of Laurel, passed away on April 6, 2018.

She was born March 2, 1932 to George and Louise (Barton) Smitherman.

Lillian graduated from Elkridge High School in 1949. She lived a majority of her life in Laurel. She worked at A&P Grocery, Safeway and also at Shoppers, in Laurel. In 1993 she moved to Bedford PA after her retirement, Lillian moved back to Laurel in 2013.  She was a member of the Pascal Senior Center and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her family, arts and crafts, playing bingo, taking trips to the casino and her coffee and donuts.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Jimmy Confer, Brenda Confer and Gary Confer. Four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Roger and Freddy Smitherman.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 at the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel, 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel MD 20707. A graveside service will follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Laurel.
