Linda Marie Moffett

Linda Marie Moffett, 69, of Laurel, Maryland passed away on Easter morning, April 16, 2017.
She was born on November 24, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to Dorothy and Albert Zepp.
Linda was a graduate of Towson State University, earning her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology (Physical Education).
Linda was a career educator, teaching P.E. to hundreds of elementary and middle school students over the course of her 42 year career, including Meade and MacArthur Middle Schools, and Fort Smallwood, Solley, and Odenton Elementary Schools in Anne Arundel County. In 2005, she was awarded the Simon A. McNeeley Award for Teacher of the Year. Linda loved working with children, and her natural ability as a teacher made her a favorite among the staff and students of the schools where she worked. As a physical education teacher, Linda was always active, jogging in her neighborhood after school, doing aerobics at home, and staying involved in her sons’ various athletic activities. (Often “forcefully volunteering” to lead warm-ups at soccer practice!)
Linda retired in 2011 and enjoyed spending more time with her family; especially taking frequent trips to Ocean City to be near her sisters and closest friends, and going on day trips and outings with her sons. She loved the beach, and treasured the time with her loved ones. Throughout her life, the summer vacations in Ocean City with her extended family were a cherished tradition. An avid sports fan, Linda also used her retirement to keep rooting for the University of Maryland Terrapins Basketball team. (Or as Linda liked to call them, “the turtles.”)
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack, her two sons, Jaime and Brandan, her older sister Diane, her younger sister Nancy, and their families.
There will be a remembrance of Linda on Wednesday, April 26th between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home P.A. 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD. Maryland.
A memorial service will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Chapel on Thursday April 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
