Lois O. Croy of Laurel, Maryland died on February 3, 2026, in Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware after 97 years of faithful devotion to her family, friends, community and church and especially to her Heavenly Father, with Whom she now resides.
Lois, lovingly known as “G-Lo” by her family, was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the middle child of five siblings. She graduated from McKeesport Technical High School and worked as a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone company and was a volunteer in the Women’s Air Corp (WAC) during World War II. She married the boy next door, Clarence Walter Croy, on February 11, 1955, and she was a devoted mother to their three children. When her children were grown Lois worked as a records clerk for Phelps Time Lock and Good Year Tire Companies and as an Office Manager for Happy Property Management Company. She retired at age 65 but stayed active through the remainder of her life.
Lois was an expert baker, avid gardener, and excellent cook and seamstress. She loved to try new recipes and always had a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies on hand for family and frequent guests. Her door was always open, and she welcomed many of her children’s friends and neighbors into her home.
Lois was a current and longtime active member of Riverdale Baptist Church in Largo, Maryland and taught first grade Sunday School for over 20 years. She cherished the fellowship and friendship of their Senior’s group and Sunday School class and will be missed by so many.
Survivors are her three children, son Keith Clifford Croy (Patrizia Hollaway) of Silver Spring, Maryland, daughter Geri Christine Croy Larson of Newark, Delaware, and daughter Shari Pauline Croy Wagner (David Wagner) of Laurel, Maryland. Grandchildren Tiffany Lynn Croy, (Richard Jelich) of Dundalk, Maryland, Ian Zane Brinton of Laurel, Maryland, Bonnie Christine Smith Wright (Matthew David Wright) and Sarah RoseAnne Smith Stokes of Newark, Delaware.
