Lorenzo Leak, Sr.

Mr. Lorenzo Leak, Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home on Friday January 16, 2015. He was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina to Eugene and Patsy Leak in 1929. Later he moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he met his wife Betty Stanford. Betty and Lorenzo were married in 1951 and were married for 53 years before her passing in 2004.

Lorenzo served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years and upon his honorable discharge from military service he became  a Communication Specialist for the United States Government.

After traveling extensively with his family throughout his military career, in 1967 they settled in Beltsville, Maryland, where they became acquainted with Jehovah's Witnesses. On December 30, 1973, Lorenzo dedicated his life and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Lorenzo is survived by his children; Lorenzo, Jr., Lawrence, Linda, L’Tanya, Leonard, Lolita, Lisa, LaSalle, and Lamont. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Lorenzo was predeceased by his brother, William and son Lance.

A private service with Military Honors will be held in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, where he will buried with his wife.
