Lucia Simonds

Lucia Simonds, age 84, of North Beach, MD, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.

Lucia was born on 02/19/1930 in Camden, NJ and was one of three children. She married her one and only love on December 3, 1952 and they were married for 52 years at the time of his death. Lucia was employed by the University Of Maryland and retired from there in the early 1990s. She was affectionately known as "little bits" by her neighbors and friends at Town Center Apartments in North Beach, MD and as Aunt Lu by her many nieces and nephews.

Lucia was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul Simonds, Sr. in 2004 and her youngest child, James Simonds, in 2002. She is survived by her children; Liz Benton and her husband Alan of Laurel, Patricia Kramer of North Beach, MD, Josephine Wasilewski and her husband Jake of New Egypt, NJ, and Paul Simonds, Jr. of Hyattsville, MD and his wife Donna. She was the devoted grandmother of Jessica Wasilewski, Joseph Simonds, Vincent Penn, Jr. and his wife Sara, Elizabeth Kramer, James Brown, Jr. and John Kramer, Jr. and his wife Lindsay. She was also the loving great-grandmother of Colin Kramer and Cameron Brown.

Arrangements are being handled by Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 beginning at 9:30 AM.
