Obituary - Lucretia Naylor Israel

Lucretia Naylor Israel was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 12, 1946 to Thomas Beale Israel and Virginia Lee Israel of Laurel, Maryland. With family nearby she passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Larkin Chase Center, Bowie, Maryland at the age of 67. Two sisters in law, Elizabeth and Patricia, who had cared for and assisted Lucretia for many years, were also in attendance. A devoted Christian, she is survived by two brothers, Thomas B. Israel of Brattleboro, Vermont and Stephen S. Israel of Kenbridge, Virginia, and a sister Virginia Ellingsworth of Glenwood, Maryland. She was educated in the public schools of Laurel, Maryland and graduated from the Samuel Ready School of Baltimore, Maryland in 1964; she later attended Smithdeal-Massey Business College in Richmond, Virginia where she graduated with a Medical Secretarial Diploma in 1965. Her principal employment was at the University of Maryland, where she served several departments as secretary. The Israel family will hold a grave side service for Lucretia on Saturday, April 19th at 11AM, at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Laurel, MD. Rev. Fielder Israel, our cousin will conduct a celebration of life service. Friends and family are invited to attend. We will have a lunch together in Laurel afterwards, particulars TBD.. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to cancer research. Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. in Laurel, Maryland was in charge of arrangements.
