Lynda Diane Umstot

Lynda Diane Umstot of Laurel, Maryland, passed away on April 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Lynda was born in Bethesda, Maryland, on December 18, 1946. She worked as an accountant at Martin Marietta until retiring to become a full-time homemaker. Lynda served as president of the Women's Auxiliary at American Legion Post 217 in College Park and the Maryland State Women's Auxiliary for many years, dedicating herself to community service.

Lynda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, engaging in arts and crafts, playing games, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick M. Greene and Narcissa M. Greene (Davis), her brothers, Frederick M. Greene Jr. and Charles R. Greene, and her daughter, Laurie L. Trost.

Lynda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Grant Stephen Umstot; her sister, Joy Spade, and her husband Mark of Orlando, Florida; her son Steven Umstot and his wife Brenda of Germantown, Ohio; and her grandchildren, Grant, Dominic, Josh, Shelby, Peyton, and Chloe.

A private celebration of Lynda's life will be held at the family's convenience.
