Lynn Z. Class

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Z. Class, a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. Lynn passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on March 19, 1947 to John Zapalski Sr. and Margaret Zapalski (both deceased). She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, John Zapalski Jr.

Lynn was a proud graduate of Blair High School, Class of 1965. She went on to earn both her Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and her Master of Arts in 1971 from the University of Maryland. Lynn's professional career was marked by her dedication and expertise as a Senior Office Engineer at Gilbane. Her colleagues and friends will remember her not only for her remarkable skill but for her unwavering kindness and integrity.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Lynn was a passionate and talented artist, whose work brought beauty and joy to those around her. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her loyal dogs, including Rocky, and the feral cats she cared for with such compassion. Lynn's love for life and her kind-hearted nature touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lynn was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Laurel, MD, where she worshiped and served with a heart full of faith. She loved the Lord deeply, and her family rejoices in the knowledge that she is now at home with Him.

Lynn is survived by her dear cousins, Carol Bondurant and Peggy Boyer, as well as many friends and extended family members who will cherish her memory always.

A private burial will take place at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Washington, D.C. A Celebration of Life in Lynn's honor will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church (13611 Laurel Bowie Road, Laurel, MD) on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM. We invite all who knew Lynn to join us as we celebrate her life and the joy she brought to the world.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lynn’s memory.
