Lynne Susan Morrison Haffner

Lynne Morrison Haffner, of Laurel, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Laurel Regional Hospital. She was 66. She was born July 24, 1950 in Washington, D.C. to the late Vaugh Ara and Martha Morrison. She grew up in Hyattsville and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1968. She also attended University of MD College Park. In 1971, she began working at the National Academy of Sciences and retired after 40 years in 2011. She was a member of the Freestate Happy Wanderers Walking Club. Lynne was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping, and especially enjoyed walking the grounds of the Montpelier Mansion.
In addition to her parents, Lynne was preceded in death by her husband Edward Charles Haffner in 2013. She is survived by her loving daughter Shellie Marie Haffner and her husband Milton Mejia of Laurel; cherished by her 10 year old grandson Anthony Haffner; brother Thomas M. Morrison of Columbia; sisters-in law Cathi Hill-Morrison and Bette Tumir and her Husband Chris; nieces and nephews Thomas Michael Morrison, II, Melissa Martha Morrison, Carol Breeze, Michael Breeze, and Christian Tumir; and great-nieces and nephews Atticus, Daisy, and Chloe.
In Lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to the Montpelier Mansion.
