Mabel Alice Litchfield, a Laurel resident since 1979, passed away peacefully on Friday June 6, 2014. Mabel was born in Bladensburg, MD, on September 24, 1925, to the late Wallace and Sarah Littleford. She worked for Sears, for more than 30 years, as an accountant and division manager. She loved spending time with her family and being a member of the Pythian Sisters, Eastern Star and Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Mabel is survived by her husband, of 34 years, Warren H. Litchfield; daughter Mary Alice Humphrey; sons George E. Anderson Jr. and David Wallace Anderson; step-son W. D. Litchfield and her sister in law Veloria Anderson. She is also survived by her granddaughter Sarah "Malke" Tanenbaum and her husband Desmond Vogler and great-grandchildren Jonah, Gabriel, Evangeline, Suszannah and many nieces and nephews. Mabel was preceded in death by her beloved son William Thomas Anderson; sister Helen Hubble and brother Wallace Littleford and his wife Alice. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, from 2 until 4 pm and 7 until pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 11 am, at the First United Methodist Church, 424 Main Street, Laurel. Interment will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery.
