Marcus M. Colbert

Marcus Colbert is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Colbert, his father Ralph Brent, his sister Cynthia Colbert, brothers: Darrell Colbert, Jamar Colbert, Davon Colbert, Tyree Brent and Donte Brent, niece Amya Ndiaya and nephew Amir Ndiaye.

Marcus was a lifelong resident of the City of Laurel.  He attended Laurel High School, graduating in 2005.  He began working for the City as a summer auxiliary employee in 2003 and joined the Department of Public Works as a laborer in September 2005 where his father, ralph and cousin Norman also work.

Marcus caught the eye of residents too.  He was always willing to stop and answer questions or take pictures.  He was awarded a Meritorious Service Award at the City of Laurel employee awards luncheon in 2016.

Marcus was passionate about video games but more importantly he was passionate about family, putting his family first in his life.  He was a kind and selfless person who was always willing to help others.  Marcus had an infectious smile that brought joy and light wherever he went.

Marcus was a giver, never asking for things for himself.  He was just starting to flourish in life.  We love you Marcus and you will be deeply missed.
