Margaret L. O'Rourke

Margaret L. O'Rourke "Peggy", 86, passed away on December 8, 2013 at Howard County General Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1926 to the late Harry and Polly Poland in Mount Savage, Maryland. She was a Laurel resident for over 50 years. She was a graduate from Allegany High School and West Virginia University. She was a member of St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity, Laurel Senior Friendship Club and AAUW. Peggy worked as a 3rd grade school teacher for St. Mary of the Mills for 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. O'Rourke, Sr. in 1999. She is survived by her son Michael J. O'Rourke, Jr. and his wife Joan and her daughter Harriann Walker and her husband Stephen; sisters Dotty Rogan and Janet Crump; and sister-in-law Joan O'Rourke. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael J. O'Rourke, III and his wife Beth, Eileen Michael and her husband Bill, Carson Walker and his wife Leah, and Kelsey Jordan and her husband Matt; and great-grandchildren Sally, Nell, Jack, and Lan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 am in the St. Vincent Pallotti High School Chapel, 113 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD 20707. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
