Marie Ann Gilbert

Marie Ann “MiMi” Gilbert, 92 formerly of College Park, MD peacefully passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017.
She was born March 5, 1925 to Anna Scovitch and Joseph Ropko in Westmorland County, PA.
Marie worked as an admisistrative assistant before retiring to Flordia where she kept busy in various part time jobs in retail. Although she had no children of her own, Aunt MiMi, as she was known, held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews and the generations that followed.
She is survived by two brothers, W. Francis (Joan) Ropko; Frederick (Marge) Ropko and two sisters Helyn Medynski and Lee Hodges.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Stephen and Thomas Ropko.
Visitation will be at the Donaldson Funeral Home P.A., 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel MD 20707, from 10:00AM until the time of the Prayer Service at 11:00AM.
Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be to the Maryland SPCA or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
