Marie "Mary" Rose Martucci

Marie (Mary) Rose Messina Martucci departed this life peacefully on July 5, 2023 at her home in Laurel, Maryland, surrounded by her family. Mary was born on November 23, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, to Salvatore and Josephine Messina. Mary grew up with her brothers, Joseph Messina (deceased) and Salvatore "Chuck" Messina. Growing up, Mary dreamed of becoming a writer, but instead went to work for the government to help support her family. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 1989. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Anthony; her daughters Teresa, Laura (husband Eddie), and Ann Marie (partner Joe). Mary is also survived by seven grandchildren: Philip (Stephanie), Matthew (Emma), Kristin, Russell, Josie (Jon), Julia (Diaa), and Chaz. One of her greatest joys later in life was time spent with her five great-grandchildren; Anthony, Audrey, Camden, Leon, and Isaac. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Mary’s favorite charity. A celebration of life will be held for Mary on July 23, 2023 from 3:00pm to 5:00 pm at the Cherry Tree Clubhouse Located at 8430 Ice Crystal Drive, Laurel, MD 20723.
