On February 20th, 2025, Martin Eduardo Guevara Aguilar joined the Creator in eternal life at the age of 58.
He was born in 1966 to Jose Guevara and Blanca Gladis Aguilar in San Miguel, El Salvador. He was raised by his beloved grandmother, Guadalupe Aguilar, and his aunt, Gloria. In 1980, Martin emigrated to Maryland, where he would spend most of his life. Martin attended Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD, and formed friendships with people from all around the world.
He married Moira McGuire in 1985, with whom he had two children, Matthew Christopher and Tara Ariana (married Martino), before divorcing in 1990. In 1991, Martin married Mirna Vigil, with whom he had three children: Rachell, Joshua (deceased), and Rebecca. Martin’s heart expanded as he welcomed Miguel Antonio (married Maryann) into the fold, making him a father to five devoted children who were his pride and joy.
Martin founded a successful painting company, which allowed him to provide for his large and loving family. In 2001, he was tragically struck by a car at a job site, resulting in a traumatic brain injury. Martin spent months in a coma, followed by years of rehabilitation. Although he regained some function, Martin was forever changed by this accident and was unable to return to work. However, his relationship with the Creator never wavered and he persisted.
In his later years, Martin spent his time deepening his spiritual connection. He enjoyed reading scripture, watching movies, and talking to and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his 5 children and his 7 grandchildren: Isaiah, Natalie, Ariana, Brian, Sevyn, Solana and Delilah.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, his aunt, and his son, Joshua.
