Martina Alvarado De Zapata

Martina Alvarado de Zapata, 81, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on April 3rd, 2024. Born on September 16th, 1942 in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic to Irene Alvarado and Alida Aquino, Martina spent her youth in San Francsico de Macoris where she studied clothing design and worked as a Alta Costura teacher, and was a member of Iglesia Restauracion.

Martina is survived by her husband, Luis Zapata, Sr.; Children, Elizabeth Zapata, Luis Zapata, Jr., and Lilian Vargas; Grandchildren, Steven Zapata, Scarlett Medina, Stephany Vargas, Stacy Vargas, Kimberly Sonora, Ashley Sonora, Kaitlyn Zapata, Daniel Zapata, and Lismary Zapata. Siblings, Celeste Aquino, Sunlinda Bonilla, Mercedes Breton Juana Alvarado, and Ramon Alvarado Viviana Santos.

Family and Friends may visit at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland 20707 on Monday, April 8th, 2024, from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. A burial will take place the following day on Tuesday, April 9th at Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mills Road, Rockville, Maryland 20853 at 10:00am.
