Mary D. Barkman

Mary D. Barkman passed away at her home in Laurel on Thursday, January 3, 2013. Born in New Zealand, Mrs. Barkman has been a Laurel resident for over 65 years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Laurel Senior Friendship Club. She was the owner and operator, along with her late husband Charles, of the Barkman Flower Shop for 40 years. Mrs. Barkman is survived by her daughter Linda K. (Rocky) Mabry; son James M. (Marylou) Barkman and her daughter-in-law Lara Spaid. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Mrs. Barkman was predeceased by her husband Charles A. Barkman and her son William J. Barkman. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7 until pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, 10 am, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, Maryland. Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park.
