Mary Ellen Ostmann

Mary Ellen Ostmann (Somerville), age 85, passed away in Laurel, Maryland on September 1, 2025.

Born to Edna Laura Giddings and William Somerville, Mary grew up alongside her brothers George, Edward, and twin Johnny. Mary married Eugene Ostmann on October 2, 1959. Though their marriage ended in 1965, their union brought forth her greatest joy—her daughter, Jeanne Anne Wines. For 44 years, Mary worked as a light fixture technician at Mobern Electric in Laurel, Maryland, but it was her role as a mother and grandmother that she was most proud of. Mary will be fondly remembered for her love of dancing, family gatherings, and her cherished weekly hair appointments. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.

Mary is survived by her granddaughter Laura Imirie (Andrew). Mary was preceded in death by her parents Edna and William, brothers George, Edward, and Johnny, and daughter Jeanne Anne.
