Mary Margaret "Peggy" Philpott

Mary Margaret "Peggy" Philpott,77, of Laurel and formerly of Lanham passed away on April 16, 2013 at Laurel Regional Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1935 in Washington, D.C. to the late Ezra Roosevelt and Agnes Elizabeth Cox. She attended St. Joseph's School in Washington, D.C. She began her career as a cashier at the A & P grocery store, then as a waitress at P.G. Country Club, and retired in 2000 from Providence Hospital as a medical secretary. She was a member of the Lady Elks #1778 of Riverdale. She loved shopping and the beach in Ocean City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John L. Philpott, Sr., and her brother Ed Cox. She is survived by her children Catherine P. Bejm and her husband Chaim and John L. Philpott, Jr.; siblings Laura C. Lunsford and her husband Bob and James L. Cox; grandchildren Amy (Eric), Laura (Kris), Jessica (Scott), and Steven (Leslie); great-grandchildren Austin, Camden, and Carl. She is also survived by her nephews Robert and Ed Lunsford and her companion James Guy.
