Mary Virginia Tidwell “Ginny”, a resident of College Park, MD, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Shanti Home in Laurel. She was 85. She was born on November 9, 1930 in Alabama to the late Luther and Georgia Thigpen. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Laurel and worked as a crossing guard for Prince George’s County for 17 years. She also loved to go walking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Adron Tidwell, and her siblings Homer and Edsel (Lindy), Thigpen.
She is survived by her loving daughter Brenda J. Purvis and her longtime companion Carter Melbourne; two grandsons Brian and Justin Purvis; and 2 great-grandchildren Ella and Aaron Purvis.
