Melvin Allen Venable

Melvin Allen Venable, loved father, brother, and family member, died January 2, 2018. He was born in 1956 to Melvin Arthur Venable and Frances Minnick.
He worked as a mechanic for quite some time before retiring just last year. Melvin was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan who enjoyed fishing, listening to country and classic rock music, spending time by the ocean and beaches, drinking his coffee, watching movies (especially Westerns), and classic cars.
He is survived by his two sons, Shawn L.D. Venable, and Samuel L.A. Venable. He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Ann Brookman and Mamie Nora Brookman, several cousins and family members.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Arthur Venable and Frances Venable, his grandparents, Lucian D. and Mamie E. Minnick.
Visitation will be held on January 8th, 2018 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel, 313 Talbott Ave (Rt. 198 West), Laurel, MD 20707. Service will immediately follow the visitation and start at 1:00pm.
Refreshments will follow at the V.F.W. Post 5051, Branchville Road, College Park, MD 20740.
