Michael Lucas Bozievich

August 18, 1944 – August 26, 2026

Michael Lucas Bozievich, affectionately known by family and friends as Mikey, Uncle Mike, Boss Hog, and Sonny Boy, passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 82.

Michael was born on August 18, 1944, in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and spent most of his life in Laurel, Maryland. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1962 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1970. During his military service, Michael earned numerous honors and decorations, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and U.S. Vietnam Service Medal. He was also recognized as an Air Force Small Arms Expert and earned his Parachutist Basic Jump Wings. His years of service and the honors he received reflected his dedication and commitment to his country.

Following his military service, Michael worked for Ed’s TV and Earl’s TV, where his natural ability to work with his hands and fix just about anything served him well. He was also a member of the American Legion in Laurel and the Elks Lodge.

Michael was a kind, creative, down-to-earth man who lived a simple life and was always willing to help someone in need. He was incredibly crafty and talented when it came to building and fixing things. If something was broken, chances were Michael could figure out a way to make it work again.

One of Michael’s greatest passions was cars and racing. He loved working on cars and was a dirt-track racer who especially loved his No. 42 race car. Whether he was behind the wheel, under the hood, or building something with his own hands, Michael was happiest when he had a project to work on.

More important than anything he built or repaired, however, was the way Michael cared for others. He devoted himself to caring for his mother and father later in their lives and was known as the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Though somewhat reserved, his kindness and willingness to help others spoke volumes about the man he was.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Bozievich and Josephine Anna Marie Sadilek, and his sister, Elsie Bryant.
