Michael J. Davis

Michael J. Davis, beloved husband of Mary Davis for 41 years, passed away on November 23, 2012. Born in San Francisco, CA on February 19, 1949 to the late George and Mary Davis, he grew up in Richmond, CA. He joined the Marines and after moving around the country for the military, he settled in Laurel in 1968. For 2 years, Mr. Davis served his country overseas while deployed in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he earned numerous awards including the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He is a member of the Resurrection Church and the American Legion Post 60. In addition to his wife, Mr. Davis is also survived by his children Melissa Davis and John Davis; sisters Roberta Koss, Maureen Pearl and Marie Guggemos; brothers James, Paul, Patrick, Keith and Thomas Davis. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Thursday, 10 am, at the Resurrection of Our Lord church. Interment will be in Maryland National Memorial Park. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Ste 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
