Michael A. Leser

August 17, 1952 — February 9, 2017

Michael A. Leser, 64 of Laurel, passed away Thursday February 9, 2017 at his home.

He was born in 1952 to Frank and Mary (Golkoski) Leser in Washington D.C.

Mike was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and a retired chemist for the United States Government.

Mike was a gentle, caring person who loved his family and was happiest when everyone was home. He loved working with his hands and over the years he spent much time making or improving things for his home, but his real love was making wooden toys. Mike made them for his own children and then in retirement began making them for fun and going to craft fairs in the area selling them to others. He took great joy in the little ones who saw and played with his toys. Mike enjoyed cooking for his family and for others often helping others by “catering” their parties.  Reading, tinkering, and music also provided joy for him, as did dogsitting for his “granddog” while his son was working.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Ann Leser, Laurel; a son Joseph M. Leser, Laurel; a daughter Katie E. Leser, Glen Burnie, a granddog, Apollo; two brothers, Frank G. Leser III and wife Debbie, VA; Steve R. Leser and wife Maureen, MD.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Monday from 3-8 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home P.A., 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707.

Additional visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 8603 Contee Road, Laurel MD 20708. where a funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00AM
