Nancy Jo Prior

Nancy Jo Prior, age 71, passed away in Jessup, MD on May 2nd, 2026.

Nancy was born on June 3rd, 1954, and daughter of Tom and Patricia Padgette. She lived in Laurel and Savage Maryland, before spending time living in California, both in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Nancy graduated from Laurel High School in 1972 and worked for the Howard County Public School System, retiring in 2014. She enjoyed going to the beach, hiking, reading, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Prior, son Alex (Megan) Prior, grandson Colin Prior, siblings Barbara (Charlie) Hayes, Carol Thomas, Jim (Suuny) Padgette, Joe Padgette, Rob (Adana) Padgette, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Prior, and brothers Tom and Kevin Padgette.

A service will be held in Nancy’s memory on Saturday, June 6th, at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland 20707 at 1pm, with a visitation one hour prior starting at 12pm. There will also be a gathering to follow the memorial service.

Nancy was a survivor of brain cancer at the age of 46, please consider a donation in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her name.

Following the service, we invite guests to join the family for a gathering at the home of Nancy's son, Alex, in Pasadena for food and drinks.
