Nancy Baker Riddick Vance of Hyattsville and Laurel, MD, passed away on March 18, 2022. Born in Washington, DC in 1927, Nancy was the daughter of James Baker and Nannie Lee Owens Riddick. Nancy Vance was a dedicated, kind and loving wife and mother. She was an avid reader and had a passion for spending time with family and friends, laughter, learning and travel. She loved Gil fiercely and enjoyed any time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she adored. Nancy loved her family, chosen and blood, with a love that was limitless and unconditional. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gil, daughter, Diane, and grandson, James “Jimbo”. She is survived by her children Douglas, Cathy (Wes) and James (Denise). She loved her grandchildren Matt, Nick, Chris, Brandon, Collin (Jen), Evan (Kia), Lauren (Jonathan), Allison (Donnell) and Jason. She was enamored by her great grandchildren Peyton, Savannah, Evie, Brady, Alivia, Caitlyn, Gabe, Dylan, Porter, Josephine, Elijah, Kaila, Isabel, Emery, Mackenzie, James and Sophia. Nancy was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Monday, March 28th at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue in Laurel, MD, visitation from 12:00-1:00pm and funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD. Memorial donations can be made in Nancy’s honor to Gilchrist Hospice Care .
