Newton W. Davis, Jr.
September 28, 1951 — October 3, 2016
On Monday, October 3, 2016 Newton William Davis, Jr. passed away at his residence in Jessup, MD. Mr. Davis was born on September 28, 1951 in Washington, DC to the late Newton William Davis, Sr. and Dolores (nee Burroughs) Breeden. Mr. Davis has lived in the Jessup area for the past 28 years, moving from the Laurel area.
Mr. Davis was an avid Redskins and Nationals fan. Mr. Davis worked as a self employed carpenter and was remembered by his family as constantly working to add on and improve his own house.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pattie Davis. Newton was the loving father of Newton W. Davis, III and his wife Marthann of Laurel, MD, Nickolas Davis of Jessup, MD, Nicole Davis McAdams and her husband Shawn of Elkridge, MD, Neil Davis of Baltimore, MD and Christopher Barker of Tuscon, AZ. He was the grandfather to Brittney, Bryan, Newton IV, Blake, Jadyn and Meadow. Newton is also survived by several brothers and sisters.
A visitation was held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, October 7, 2016 at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church in Laurel, MD at 11:00 AM. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
