Patricia Nell Higdon

On Thursday, July 3, 2014 God gained a new angel singing for Him in heaven. Patricia Nell Higdon, also known as Patty Burke, passed away at home with her family with her. Born and raised in Johnson City, TN she was the daughter of Garrett Roscoe and Nellie Mae Brummit Sorrell. She has been in Maryland for over 50 years. Mrs. Higson is predeceased by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Roy Higdon whom she loved dearly. She also leaves her six devoted children Roberta Kratz, Rhonda Martin, Roxanna Roberts, Ramona Roberts, Rosalind Hogan, Randy Burkhart and stepchildren Lisa Morris and Neil Burkhart; and dear sons-in-law Gary Kratz, Rob Martin, and Matt Hogan; 9 cherished grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and loving sister Sue Nickels.
Mrs. Higdon was a member of the Country Entertainers and Musicians Benevolent Assoc. and was inducted into the MD Country Music Hall of Fame. She was a strong woman, a gifted artist, and amazing mother with a passion for crafting, sewing, collecting and trading antiques.
She was a heck of a woman! A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend that will be sorely missed. Services were private.
