Patricia Ann Maguire

Patricia Ann Maguire formerly of Laurel, Maryland passed away peacefully in her home in Marriottsville, Maryland on Wednesday March 19, 2025. Patricia was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to James P. and Marion (nee) King Igoe on March 15, 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Austin W. Maguire in 2015, and her sister Margaret L. (nee) Igoe Munchak in 2019.

She survived by her son Austin W. Maguire and his wife, Karen (nee) O'Brien Maguire, her daughter Colleen Aistis her husband, Margiris Aistis, her son Robert Maguire, four grandchildren Erinn Maguire, Megan (nee) Maguire Priolo, her husband Marco Priolo, Lucy Aistis, Henry Aistis, his wife Gabriella (nee) Guadalupe Aistis and six great-grandchildren. Additionally Patricia is survived by her sister Mary Jeanne Igoe, brother James P. Igoe and his wife Joann (nee) Quinn. Her extended family of nieces and nephews include Mary Ellen (nee) Carroll Pierson, Christopher Carroll, James Patrick Carroll, Edward Bonin, Thomas Bonin, Robert A. Maguire, Patrick Maguire, Kathleen (nee) Maguire Stoudt, Michele (nee) Munchak Savino, Lila (nee) Munchak, Cooperider her husband Todd Cooperiderider, Kelly (nee) Igoe Hershey, her husband Corey Hershey, and James P. Igoe IV.

Patricia was educated in the Dunmore Pennsylvania public school system and was a proud graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1956. She served 30 years as a civil servant with the Department of Defense, Ft. Meade Maryland. Upon her retirement she maintained an active membership in the National Security Agency Phoenix Society.  Patricia completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Maryland, University College in College Park, Maryland. She took great pride in her affiliation with the University of Maryland. She was an active member of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club, where she attended football, basketball, baseball and lacrosse games. She and her husband Austin often traveled across the country to support their teams.

Patricia and her husband Austin joined the St. Mary’s of the Mills Catholic Church in 1968. She was a regular communicant and a member of the Ladies of Charity. Patricia enjoyed extensive travel with her husband and children. After visiting churches, chapels and cathedrals throughout the world she would comment that ‘none could compare to the beauty of St. Mary’s of the Mills”. This was her spiritual home.

Patricia was loved and adored by her family; she found strength in the love of her parents, her siblings and that of her beloved grandmother Margaret (nee) McGowan Igoe. Patricia adhered to her grandmother’s legacy of faith & family. She imparted those values upon her children, grand and great grandchildren.
