Patricia Sheppard, 86, passed away suddenly on January 30, 2024 in Laurel, MD

Patricia Sheppard was born on April 14, 1937 in Washington, DC, to Robert Connor and Margaret Moorhead Connor.

Patricia graduated from Notre Dame High School, Washington, DC in 1955, and went on to graduate from St. Joseph's Nursing School in Reading, Pa. in 1958. She returned to college after raising her children, to earn her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 1983. She worked as a nurse at several hospitals in the area, serving for many years at Laurel Hospital.

Patricia married Grover Sheppard on September 13, 1958 in Washington, DC. The couple have 3 children, John Sheppard, Jean Santiago, and Joseph Sheppard.

Patricia was best known for her devotion to her faith at St. Mary's of the Mills Catholic Church, where she attended daily Mass. She was also part of the Church's Ladies of Charity and the Quilting Group.

Patricia is survived by her children, John and June Sheppard, Jean and Armando Santiago, Joseph and Kimberly Sheppard, her siblings, Jeremiah Connor, Martha Connor-Donnelly and Roberta Perkel. She has 6 grandchildren, Jason and Emily Sheppard Joshua Sheppard, Bruce Santiago, Gabrielle Santiago, Rachel Sheppard, Vincent Sheppard and 1 great granddaughter, Harper Sheppard.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Connor and Margaret Moorhead Connor and her husband of 38 years, Grover Sheppard.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland 20707. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8th at 10:30am at St. Mary of the Mills Roman Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, Maryland 20707. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date.
