Patrick R. Ashby

Patrick R. Ashby, age 73, of Oakland, MD (formerly of Laurel, MD) died at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Born May 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Alice Hurd Ashby and Turner Ashby.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Ashby; daughters Tina (Tom) Gennity, Monica (Tony) Morales, Sharon (Bruce) Poole, Michelle (Mark) Webb, and son Derek (Christine) Ashby; grandchildren Kristen (Kevin), Colleen, Andre, Sydney, Brynn, Savannah, Macey, Rachel, Ava, Ella, and four step-grandchildren. He is also survived by seven brothers and sisters. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one brother.

Mr. Ashby lived and raised his family in Laurel before retiring to Oakland. He enjoyed golf and spending time with family. He worked hard and played hard. He is loved and remembered by many.

Relatives and friends may call at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel, MD on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment Union Cemetery, Burtonsville, MD.
