Paul Charles Gilbert

Paul C. Gilbert, 53, a resident of Laurel for 33 years, passed away on February 11, 2013 at his home. He was born on August 7, 1959 in New York to the late Walter and Mary Gilbert. He graduated in 1977 from Irmo High School in South Carolina, then later became a Master Technician from Lincoln Technical Institute. Paul is known for his love of cars. He was very knowledgeable and many people came to him for advice not only about cars but other areas as well. He worked for Montgomery Wards in the Automotive Department for about 25 years and Laurel NAPA for about 10 years before retirement. He was also a spontaneous traveler, enjoyed going to car shows, and telling "silly" jokes, spending time with his family especially his grandson.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Debbie Gilbert; loving children Jennifer Lauren Gilbert and Matthew Walter Gilbert; sister Faye Biggs; and his grandson and best friend Connor Matthew Mays. He is also survived by many family members and great friends who loved him.
