LAUREL - Paul W. Manos, 87, of Laurel, peacefully passed away early Thursday morning, July 12, 2012, at his home. He was the loving husband of Nancy L. Manos for over 55 years.
He was born in Ft. Myers, Florida, the son of John P. Manos of Greece and Daisy Stewart of Scotland. Paul was raised and attended school in Westfield, Massachusetts. After school he joined the United States Navy and then the United States Army, where he was a member of the 11th Airborne Division stationed in Japan. He worked for the United States Government and retired with over 30 years of faithful service. Paul was a member of the Boy Scouts and a Scout leader. He was member of the BSA Order of the Arrow, Scouting's Honor Society. He enjoyed traveling to Greece with his brother John Manos, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Manos, daughters Dianna Martinez of St. Joseph, Mo, Paula Woods of Wichita, Ks., sons Carl Manos of Chicago Il, Gary Manos of Denton, Md., and John Manos of Port Charlotte, Fla., a sister Elena Manos Nordmeyer, and two brothers that proceeded him in death, J.P. Manos and John Manos. He also is survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held August 11, at 1pm., at the Maryland City Baptist Church located at 326 Brock Bridge Road, Laurel, Md., 20724.
