Payton Douglas Torrence, Sr.

Payton Douglas Torrence, Sr., 74, of Colesville, MD, died Wednesday June 24, 2015. He was born October 29, 1940 in Lynchburg, VA and grew up in Bedford, VA. He was the son of Pate and Clarice Torrence, Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia and George Washington University.
Doug was retired from the Washington D.C. Medical Society where he served as the Executive Director. He came to know the Lord and served the church in many roles including SundaySchool teacher, deacon, and choir member.
Doug is survived by his wife, Doris Watson Torrence; his daughter Kelly Torrence Marroquin (Cesar) of Colesville, MDand his son Payton Douglas Torrence, Jr.(Amy) of Monument, CO; his four grandchildren Victoria Marroquin, CassandraMarroquin, Payton Douglas Torrence III, and Ty Torrence; his sister Patricia Torrence Johnson (Wendell) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; brother Pate Torrence (Hallie) of Roanoke, VA.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 27 from 3-7 P.M. at Donaldson Funeral Home, Laurel, MD. A Celebration Service will be held on Sunday, June 28 at 2:30 P.M. at Forcey Bible Church.
