Peter H. Severinsen, Sr., 76, a former electrician and mechanic for Waste Management, Inc., died August 27, 2014 at Laurel Regional Hospital. Mr. Severinsen, who lived in Laurel, was born in Baltimore, MD. In high school he excelled in boxing, wrestling and soccer. He was a US Navy veteran and worked on the USS Nautilus submarine as an electrician. He loved church music and sang in many choirs. An avid photographer, Peter enjoyed photographing animals, flowers, landscapes, portraits and weddings. Peter was the beloved husband of Patricia Keating Severinsen and the loving father of Pete Severinsen, Barbara Jean Brothers and Albert Meinecke. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Christine Davis and Nicole Jackson and the great-grandfather of Chloe, Madelyn and Caleb Jackson. A visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel, MD on Thursday, September 4, from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, beginning at 12 noon, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel. Interment will be held in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
