Ralph Joseph Gaddi, 89, of Laurel, Md., peacefully passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013.
He was born on July 24, 1924 in Washington, D.C. and always lived in the metropolitan area except during his Army military service in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He worked 25 years for the Army Map Service, Topographic Printing unit. During that time, he became a professional duckpin bowler, and was an avid tennis and pool player. His other interests included carpentry, Bonsai cultivation and collecting and tinkering with clocks.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Gaddi of Laurel, Md.; two sons by a former marriage to Doris Gaddi, Joseph & Steven Gaddi of Silver Spring, Md.; two step-children Karen Kirchberg of Rockville, Md. and Richard Anderson of Chicago, IL.; two granddaughters, Alexa Hagerty and Courtney Gaddi; two grandsons, Adam & Eli Anderson; his sister Sr. Eugenia Gaddi; and his nieces and nephews, children of his sister Theresa Rankin (deceased).
Services will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home (313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Md. 20707), on Saturday, November 23, 2013, viewing at 9:00 a.m. and service at 10:00 AM.
