Regina Rhea Ford (Baker) 1948 – 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Regina Rhea “Dee” Ford (76), beloved wife and mother, passed away on July 3, 2024. Born to Melvin and Martha Baker, January 7, 1948, in Washington, D.C.

It was in 1968 that Dee’s heart found its counterpart in Wayne Douglas Ford. Their marriage was a testament to how love can endure the test of time. Together, they raised three remarkable children: Cindy (Ken) Dutton of Tucson, AZ, Mary (Ted) Cantrell of Elkridge, MD and Wayne Ford Jr. of Laurel, MD, who were Dee’s pride and joy.

Predeceased by her parents and her sister Mary.

Dee’s memory will be forever honored by her devoted husband, children, and three grandchildren: David, Ashley and Shauna; two sisters: Martha and Kathleen, and brother Frank; along with a wonderful community of friends.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Laurel, MD - faithfully serving Jehovah, setting a fine example of faith until her death, remaining courageous and speaking with others about the Bible's promise of a time when suffering and tears of sorrow will be gone from the earth forever.

Dee was full of love, laughter, resilience, touched the lives of all who knew her and is leaving a void her family cannot fill. She loved foreign films, particularly Bollywood movies, and will forever be remembered saying "just watch this one with me" as we rolled our eyes but joined her regardless with a smile. Known for her dry sarcastic sense of humor, Dee could always be counted on to deliver a clever quip or a thoughtful insight.

The family will be honoring her life in a private ceremony. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
