Rhoda Olga Williamson was received into the arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ, on August 4, 2024 at the age of 82. She was the wife of Roger Lindsey Williamson with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She was the mother of Dale Lindsey Williamson and Carlyn Ruth (Williamson) Caldwell, grandmother of Amberlyn, Kaedin, and Liliana Williamson, and the sister of Ruth Rayne and the late Naomi Peckenschneider.
Born in Baltimore, MD in 1942, she was the daughter of the Reverend Joseph T. Raschka and Emma (nee Brodowski) Raschka. Rhoda graduated from Dundalk High School and earned her RN from Lutheran Hospital of Baltimore. She lived alternatively in Laurel, MD, and the republic of Panama where her husband served three tours at the US Army Tropic Test Center. She worked as a surgical nurse at Leland Memorial Hospital and as an RN at several nearby nursing homes. Her many activities included church as a pianist/organist and choir member in Panama. She was an avid bible student, and endless prayer warrior in Panama and Laurel, MD. Boating and fishing with her family, and cooking the many types of fish in many different ways, were some of her more pleasurable outdoor activities. Girl scouting was a passion, volunteering at the troop level with her daughter and at the adult level as a leadership trainer in Laurel and Panama. While in Panama, she received the Panama Canal Silver Award for her selfless contributions to the Panama Canal community.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24th at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 13611 Laurel-Bowie Road, Laurel, MD at 9:30 am. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church general fund.
