Richard "Dick" E. Baker Sr., age 85, passed away on July 9, 2022. Born in Greenbelt, MD on September 3, 1936 to the late Charles and Mary [Lee] Baker. He was the third of five children.

Dick grew up next door to his grandparents and was always very close to them. He would get up earlier than the rest of the family and sneak over to their house where his grandmother would fix what he wanted for breakfast on her wood stove. Dick was someone who, no matter what was going on in his life, would have a plan, solution or joke, (sometimes all of the above) to help process through difficult times.

Dick was a man of many interests and hobbies. He loved the beach, playing tennis and riding his bike. He loved music, cars, playing cards and telling jokes. Dick was very talented and could carve anything from just a block of wood and a pocketknife.

He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and boyfriend (he met his girlfriend at 77 years of age!). To know him was to love him.

Dick is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Willa Dean Baker; son, Richard E. Baker Jr.; son, Michael David Baker; sister, Violet Hastings; and 2 brothers: Charles Baker Jr. and Daniel Baker.

Dick is survived by daughter, Teresa Sheahin, daughter-in-law, Kimbery Keyton; girlfriend, Dody Gibson; 6 grandchildren: Jessica Noyes, Jonathan Baker, Christopher Baker, Bradley Sheahin, Brittany Sheahin and Blake Sheahin; 4 great-grandchildren: Charlie Noyes, Benjamin Noyes, Mia Sheahin and Jaxon Sheahin; and brother, Robert Baker.
